IPL and YAG Laser Treatments
Intense Pulsed Light or IPL and YAG Laser are forms of precisely focused light energy that is used to treat a variety of skin conditions. They are ideal for unsightly veins or benign vascular lesions such as telangiectasias, “spider veins” or varicose veins. IPL is also effective for hemangiomas, solar lentigines (sun spots), sun damage, and rosacea. IPL and YAG treatments are performed as a series of treatments under the direction of Dr. Herbert. Both doctors have specialized medical training in the use of laser treatments.
Botox
Botox is commonly used to reduce or eliminate the appearance of facial wrinkles. It is injected into the areas surrounding the eyes, forehead and mouth. Botox is a purified neurotoxin which is FDA approved to treat `worry lines’ as well as `frown lines’ and `crow’s feet.’ It is a safe and effective treatment that can last from three to six months.
Botox Cosmetic is not recommended if you have an active infection, any history of Multiple Sclerosis or any other neurological disorder. Also, it is not indicated if you are on certain antibiotics or are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning to be pregnant in the next three to six months.

Restylane
This injectable filler is designed to shape the face and eliminate the volume loss that occurs with aging.
It is a hyaluronic acid derivative that is found naturally in your own body. Restylane is an FDA-approved treatment for the nasolabial folds--these are lines that are present from the side of your nose to the corners of your mouth. It is also used to safely sculpt lips as well. It can last from 3 to 6 months, increasing in duration with more frequent injections.

Juvederm
This is an injectable filler that is used in a similar fashion to Restylane. It is best used for the nasolabial folds and it can last from 6 to 9 months.
Microdermabrasion
FDL Dermatology uses crystal-free microdermabrasion. Our system employs a diamond encrusted wand tip and light vacuum pressure. This process uses less suction and decreases the drying effect that is seen with other microdermabrasion machines. Microdermabrasion is effective for the treatment of mild skin aging, sun damaged skin, melasma, black and whitehead extraction.
Often, six visits are needed to provide the patient with optimal treatment. Maintenance can be as little as every six months.
