Board Certified Dermatologist & Dermatologic Surgeon
Dr. Herbert is an accomplished board-certified dermatologist with extensive experience in medical and cosmetic dermatology. Her interests include pigmented lesions, comprehensive skin examinations, preventing skin cancer, and optimizing your skin care regimen to make you look your absolute best.
For more than 12 years, Dr. Herbert’s traditional healthcare model accepted medical insurance. When the COVID pandemic disrupted life in 2020, Dr. Herbert, like many physicians, shifted to telemedicine. Much to her delight, the lack of time constraints allowed her to spend more time with her patients, get to know them better, and address all their dermatologic needs at once. In late 2020, FDL Dermatology stopped accepting medical insurance and made the switch to a direct pay model. She and her staff enjoy focusing completely on their patients during longer, more personalized appointments.
She earned her medical degree at Georgetown University Medical School and her Master’s in Public Health at the George Washington University Medical Center. She completed her internship at Georgetown University in General Internal Medicine and her Dermatology Residency at Tulane University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Dr. Herbert is a board-certified dermatologist and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD). She holds an active staff position at VHC Health, formerly known as the Virginia Hospital Center. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Herbert is passionate about education and serves as a mentor for pre-medical students from Georgetown Medical School and nurse practitioner students from Marymount and George Mason University.
Locally, Dr. Herbert is actively involved in The Georgetown Clinical Society and a peer-reviewed journal club. She generously donates her time and clinical expertise to various local high schools and middle school auctions, as well as school-sponsored events. Dr. Herbert’s commitment to both her medical practice and community engagement highlights her dedication to dermatology and education.
Dr. Herbert is actively involved in local charities including the Virginia Hospital Galen Foundation, the Cancer Survivorship Fund, and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She also volunteers through the American Academy of Dermatology and with local Virginia schools to promote sun protection and skin cancer awareness.
She lives in McLean, Virginia with her family and enjoys any sports activity, as well as reading, traveling, and spending time with her two young sons.
